MatOrtho® (formerly Finsbury) is the world’s leader in Hip Resurfacing technology. Our experience spans over 45 years, from the 1970s Freeman double-cup to the design, specification and manufacture of the BHR (1997-2009), launch of the ADEPT® in 2004 now with a ODEP 13A rating1, and ongoing work on ceramic hip resurfacing. The ADEPT® remains one of only 2 widely used and available hip resurfacing devices and the only one supplied by the original manufacturer.
By retaining the patient’s femur and natural head diameter, hip resurfacing patients achieve better a restoration of anatomy4, greater stability5,6, a more natural gait and freedom of movement7,8 and are more likely to return to a normal and active lifestyle8,9. 95% of ADEPT® hip resurfacing patients are satisfied with their outcome3.
Today’s ADEPT® hip resurfacing patients are primarily young males with osteoarthritis. The 10-year revision rate for <50-year-old males, the most demanding patient group, is 0.9%2.
- ODEP rating is for males and size range 48-58mm. Latest ODEP ratings can be found at www.odep.org.uk
